Miss Humphries, of the Hutt, who left some weeks ago by the Maunganui for Sau Francisco, writes by return mail that she is impressed with the beauty ot that city. As the hotel where she js staying is fifteen stories high, the view from the roof of the city and its environs is very extensive, and fine. Mrs. Fell, who accompanied Miss Humphries to America, has gone for a trip to Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. The Amish Men nonites of Ontario have banned radio receivers from tbeir homes. They are classed with musical instruments as "tools of the devil.”
