Reduction of Town Hall Rent The Juvenile Concert League has written to the City Council asking for reconsideration of the rent'al charged for concerts given in the Town Hall. The council had agreed to reduce the rent from £l4 to £lO if the concerts lasted from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., but when the hall was wanted from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., it had no option hut to charge the full rental to avoid interference with bookings. The request was before the finance committee last evening. The Mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, said that the application was made in eonI nection with past concerts, which had not interfered with night bookings, so ho thought the council could meet the leaguo with the reduction. That was' agreed to.
