Opaku Reserve Fund DIVERSION OPPOSED Dominion Special Service. Wanganui, July 3. At yesterday’s meeting of the .South Taranaki executive of the Farmers’ Union,- at Hawera, definite opposition was voiced to any move whereby the Taranaki scholarship money from the Opaku reserve fund might be diverted and used to benefit students from other centres. \ It was stated that the Taranaki members of Parliament numbered only four, and they were faced with considerable opposition. It was unanimously decided to support the Taranaki Education Board in any move it might make to ensure the retention of the scholarships and the fund from which they emanated.
