FORCED LANDING
Pilot Finds Clearing AEROPLANE DAMAGED North Auckland Mishap By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, July 5. One of the Auckland Aero Club’s Moth planes piloted by Mr. J. M. Stevenson made a forced landing following engine trouble between Wellsworth and Warkworth yesterday afternoon. Both wings of the plane and propeller were ‘damaged, but the pilot and woman passenger escaped injury. The plane was being flown from Whangarel to Auckland, and the landing was made on a small clearing, the only suitable spot for several miles, the country being bush-clad and hilly.
