Liquor Consumption
Sir—Could you tell me the amount of alcoholic liquor in gallons that lias been consumed in New Zealand since 1921 and also the amount in England. I am. etc.,
English statistics do not permit a comparison of quantities with New Zealand. Tn 1927 the consumption of aclohol absolute per head was 1.16 gallons in Great Britain, and .755 gallons in New Zealand. Great Britain’s total drink bill in 1927 was £298.809.900, and New Zealand spent £8,831,531 in that year. Details of alcohol consumption are as
