Dr. Kidson Not for Australia
Au offer of the position of Commonwealth Meteorologist was refused by Dr. E. Kidson. Last month it was reported that he would be the successor to Mr. H. A. Hunt, who was retiring. Dr. Kidson, who was appointed director of the New Zealand Meteorological Department in May, 1927. at a salary of £9OO a year, had held the position of supervising meteorologist and assistantdirector of the Commonwealth Meteorological Service for the previous six years.
