Information given in the report indicates that quail are to be found in isolnted envoys in the district, mid although hard to’locate appear to be holding their own. Grey duck are plentiful and pukeko are increasing. Hares and rabbits are fairly well distributed about the district. Deer are to be found in the Tararua and Waewaepa ranges, but it was reported that the heads are in the main of poor quality. It was reported that 40 pheasants had been released.
