USING OLD STOCKINGS
How many women have dozens of old silk stockings impossible to wear just waiting to be burned. Don’t burn them—but cut off tbejr feet and tops, leaving the silk part ready to bo cut into strips one inch wide. Having done this join all the strips together, buy a large wooden crochet needle 18 inches long, and one inch round, and set to work with the ordinary crochet stitch Twenty-eight pairs of stockings will make a largo mat for the bedside. It is advisable to vary your colours nnd the result will bo both useful and ornamental.
