Municipal Milk
Sir, —Some remarks of mine at a recent meeting have raised the ire of several good citizens, among them Councillor Bennett, who states I am qualifying for Porirua, and Councillor McKeen, who stated I was telling a deliberate lie. I repeated my remarks last night and invited the above-named gentlemen to investigate matters, and if I spoke the truth they should, in fairness, • withdraw their remarks. The last council justly takes pride in the municipal milk factory and advertises among its many virtues the fact that an abundance of light is admitted to the building. Are they adverse to the citizens receiving more light on the subject of milk supplies? I have never at any time criticised the milk depot, its management or organisation, and am pleased to learn it is the best-equipped and organised milk plant in the world. No one would criticise a splendid ambulance stationed at the bottom of a precipice, but is it not sound common sense to build a fence at the top?—l am, etc., 8. HOLM. April 24.
