OBITUARY

Mr. 0. E. Bowling The death occurred on Tuesday, alter a short illness, of Mr. O. E. Bowling, assistant solicitor. Public ’Frost Office, Air Bowliug joined the Public Service in 1898 as a cadet in the Justice department. rising to the position in JJli Oi registrar of the Supreme Court at Auckland. In 1919 he was transferred to the head office of the Public Trust as assistant solicitor, and was in the head office continuously from then until his illness. He specialised in the work relating to workers’ compensation and accident law. and his wide knowledge and long experience of the subject were of very great value to all concerned, especially to the poorer clients of the Public Trust Office. Mr. Bowling, who was a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court, was a highly capable mid unassuming officer, never seeking publicity, but finding satisfaction in duty well done. His services and ability were widely appreciated by tbe legal profession throughout New Zealand as well as bv his department.
