Fleet of Overseas Ships The waterfront this week is more than usually busy, and’ the activity will increase up still Saturday, when there will be a fairly heavy exodus of overseas ships. Liners loading at the wharves yesterday were the Tekoa, Otaio, Tasmania, and Port Alma. The Tainui was discharging general cargo from London, and the Cornwall basic slag from Antwerp. The big motor-tanker Athelqueen, with 12,000 tons of fuel oil from San Pedro, arrived during the forenoon, and went to. Miramar to discharge. The Tekoa sailed in the afternoon, but she will be replaced today by the Fordsdale. The New Zealand Shipping Company s motor-liner Rangitane, from London and Southampton, via the Panama Canal, with passengers, mails, and cargo, is due to-morrow morning. The Waihemo. from Pacific Coast ports, via Auckland, is due on Friday, and the tanker Minister Wedel, from Singapore with motor-spirit, is expected at the week-end.
