MOTOR SPEED LIMITS
Suggestion to Councils A suggestion from the Automobile Association that the Borough Council of the district should adopt the speed limits as set out in the Motor Vehicles Act, 1924, was received by the Petone Borough Council at its recent meeting. The borough inspector reported to the council that Petone’s speed limits were almost as stipulated in the motor regulations, the limit in the majority of the streets being 25 miles per hour, the maximum laid down in the regulations for speed limits within a borough. In a few of the narrow streets the limit was 20 nl nli and in the congested portion of Jackson Street. 15 m.p.h. The matter was referred to the traffic by-laws committee,
