HAWKE CUP CRICKET
Manawatu to Play Waikato Ejminion Special Service. Palmerston North, March IT. The Manawatu Cricket Association has received advice from the Dominion Association that the Manawatu eleven has been allotted the next Hawke Cup game. The right of Manawatu to challenge Waikato for the trophy was possible by the earthquake of February 3 disorganising the Southern Hawke’s Bay Association's plans. Nelson was also eligible for a challenge, but did not exercise this right. Preparations are now afoot to send a Manawatu team to Hamilton at Easter.
