PICTURES FROM RUBBER
A new use for rubber has been found by Mr. George Nicholson, whose coloured rubber-cuts are on view at the Claridge Gallery, writes a London critic. Rubber-cuts apparently have the advantages of being cheap—2oo copies can be taken from a single plate—quick to make and easy to colour. Mr. Nicholson is both enterprising and versatile, for he shows works in four media —water-colours, gouaehc, rubbercuts and drawings, and he also does wood-cuts and lino-cuts. Moreover he is a fine singer of negro spirituals.
