Wrestling in Wellington PROGRESS OF SPOBT “There are two features in the year's work that are both outstanding and satisfactory.” stated the annual report of the Wellington Wrestling Association, Submitted to the annual meeting yesterday afternoon. "The first is the exceptionally fine progress that the popularity of the sport has made, particularly in Wellington, but also generally throughout New Zealand. The second is the sound financial position of the association that has been reached through the very economical manner in which the committee has handled the outgoings for each contest. Good from Every Viewpoint, At yesterday's meeting, which was well attended, the president, Mr. H. D. Bennett, was in the chair. "1 think most of vou will agree.” he said, “that W" have had'a remarkably good year from every point of view. The wrestling has been up to a very high standard. It has been clean, and your officers have conducted all the matches in an extremely fine manner.. “With regard to our position in the dispute, our will enable us to'win through if the struggle continues. But I am happy to say that there does not seem now any cause for further anxiety and wo-should, in the course of the next few days, be in a position to telegraph to the States definitely fixing a time for men to come over. I am sure even taking into consideration the existing depression we should be able to cater for the sport in a way not inferior to last season. I am hoping to be able to start the season in June.” Officers Elected. Office-bearers for the coming y«ar were elected as follow: Patron, Mr. C. J. B. Norwood : president, Mr. 11. D.
