Man in Serious State DIFFICULT RESCUE Dominion Special Service. Auckland, March 13. Having fallen into the mud while walking across the Hobson Bay sewer early yesterday* morning, a single man, John Douglas Thacker, aged 48, of Orakei Road, Remuera, was found unconscious and admitted to hospital in a serious condition. Mr. Thacker was noticed by a passerby lying in the mud exposed by the ebb tide. He is thought to have lost his balance. ■ < An ambulance was summoned, and the officer had to wade through deep slime in order to get him on to a stretcher. This was accomplished with difficulty.
