Terrible Scene Witnessed 350 BELIEVED MISSING Shanghai, March 12. The revenue cruiser’s officers, eyewitnesses of the explosion in the steamer Tachi, state that they approached the vessel seeing flames, when there was a blinding flash from the forepart. It was impossible that any there survived. The captain lowered the stern anchors, when a second explosion r ® n J the Tachi in twain, scattering nietal and human bodies over the river. The panic-stricken passengers had previously leaped overboard, and the river lor a quarter of a mile was dotted with heads from which issued piteous cries f°The latest estimate is that 350 are missing. _________
