ROCK POOLS

Down to the gr.ey-green rocks we went, Timothy, Betsy and I, The tide was low, and pools we found Lying in hollows high. Warmed by the sun, and deep they were, Blue-green, with seaweed around; Pink-tipped anemones floated there And a starfish, Timothy found. I smv a pawa shell down deep. As pretty as mother-of-pearl; And Betsy was chasing a baby crab When a little wind came with a whirl. . . And ruffled the breast of the blue rockpool. Grey storm clouds banked up in the west, And Timothy, Betsy and I ran home, To supper, and bedtime, and rest.
