ENGAGEMENT
r ' ' YOUNGS—PHARAZYN. Joan Brenda, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 0. B. Pharazyn, Nelson, to Lieutenant Joseph John Youngs, R.N.R., youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Youngs, St. Austell, Cornwall, England. The monthly meeting of the Plunket Society, Petone branch, was held recently, Mrs. Kirk presiding. There were also present Mesdames Donald, Falder, Anderson, Frame, Pattinson, Jenner, Louisson, Evans, O’Brien and Miss Collie. The resignation of Mrs. Evans as secretary was accepted with regret and Mrs. O’Brien was appointed in her place. The following donations have been received: Mrs. C. L. Jackson, 10/6; Mrs. L. C. Chou, 10/-; Mr. R. G. House, 10/-; Miss Fraser, 5/-; Mr. D. McKenzie, 10/-; Mrs. Louisson, 10/6. A large meeting of the Makirikirl, Kaitoke and Wangaehu districts was held on Tuesday, when final arrangements for the forthcoming garden party, which will be held at “Letham,” the residence of Mr. and Mrs. C. Ross, Wanganui,. were made. The party will be held on March 21.
