Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lewis, Fordell, are spending a fishing holiday at Takaanu. Nurses Garden, Tomlinson and Dennison hare commenced their training at Wanganui Stewart Karitane Home. Miss Smith, who has been a Plunket nurse with the Wanganui branch for many years, has resigned her position. The New Plymouth branch of the Plunket Society, has donated £lO to the ■Wanganui Stewart Karitane funds. At Tuesday’s meeting of the Wanganui Karitane Home committee. Mrs. A. J. Crawford presided. The Plunket nurses reported 562 old cases on the bool>-. 78 new cases, and 1223 visits to headquarters. Babies to the number of 19 were admitted during the month. The gardening circle of the Lady Jellicoe Club is spending next Tuesday afternoon at Benefield’s nursery. Mr. and Mrs. Wells (Waitara) are visitors to Wanganui. Miss Evelyn Henderson. Wanganui, is the guest of Mrs. M. Mcßeth, Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Evans are Wellington visitors to Wanganui. Misses A. Anderson and N. Collingwood, Christchurch, are guests of Mrs. A. Anderson, Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Moroney, Tauherenikau, are in Wellington. Mrs. Hogg and Miss Jessie Hogg, Masterton, have returned from Patea. _ Miss Jessie Thomson, Wellington, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Rutherford, Tararua Street, Masterton. Miss H. Sumpter. Masterton, is visiting Wellington. Mrs. Fierabend has returned to Dannevirke after a short stay with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ackerman, Lansdowne, Masterton. A pleasant-evening was spent at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. R. Whyborn, First Street, Lansdowne, on Thursday, when the first of a series of card evenings was held, with the view of raising fupds for a social hall in connection with the Lansdowne Presbyterian .Church.
