WEDDING

EVANS—LITTLE. The marriage of Vida Margaret, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Little, of Wellington, to Herbert Llewellyn, older son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Evans; of Lyall Bay, was solemnised at St. Peter’s Church, on Wednesday evening, by the Rev. Mr. Bullock. Mr. Shortt presided at the organ. The church was decorated by girl friends of the bride and during the signing of the register Miss Alma Clegg sang “O Perfect Love.” ■ The bride, who was given away by het father, wore a mediaeval gown of soft parchment satin, the bodice having a Vshaped yolk of Honiton lace, which extended to the waist at the back, finishing with a true lovers’ knot of pearls. The train fell in folds from the waist. Her long, veil was of plain tulle and she carried an arm sheaf of cream and delicate pink roses. Tho three bridesmaids were Misses Morva Evans (chief). Lilian Dick and Edna Windley, dressed alike in long frocks of shrimp pink lace over georgette, their hats being ring velvet of the same shade, softly folded off the face. They wore apple green mittens and shoes and carried arm sheafs of gladioli to tone with their frocks. The duties of best man and groomsmen were carried out respectively by Messrs. Jasper Coote, Walter Hollings and Leslie Brand. A reception was held at the Kiosk, Kelburn, a large number of guests being received by Mrs. Little and Mrs. Evans, the former wearing a black georgette and lace ensemble and black hat, and the latter a model gown of panne velvet and black velour hat. Mr. and Mrs. Evans, Junr., left by car, Mrs. Evans wearing a wine tweed suit with small hat of same material. FREE KINDERGARTEN Friends and supporters of the Free Kindergarten are reminded of the garden party to be held to-day at the residence of Mrs. Hope Gibbons. The party is under the patronage of her Excellency Lady Bledisloe, who will also be present. Attractions of various kinds are being arranged and the afternoon promises to be successful.
