About the Province It is stated that the directors of the Masterton branch of the Y.M.C.A. feel that tho public is not supporting the association as It might, and in order to ascertain the extent of public Interest, they have decided to call a public meeting on the occasion of tlie annual meeting of tho association in about a fortnight’s time, when its work and needs will be outlined. Appealing for a grant of £3O to bo used for tho purchase of playing apparatus, a deputatloh from the Masterton South Park Society waited upon the Trust Lands Trust on Thursday night. The chairman of the trust, Mr. R. Krahagen, expressed., appreciation of tho work being done by the society, and promised the deputation that Its request would be favourably considered when next year's estimates were being drawn up. Since the beginning of the unemployment schemes in Wanganui, 126 less men have been dependent on the Wanganui Hospital and Charitable Aid Board.
