ACCIDENTAL SUICIDE

Cambridge Student’s Death AUTHORITIES EXONERATED London, March 4. The inquest on Francis Ellis|, the Cambridge student, who was found dead iu his rooms, resulted in a verdict of fatal asphyxiation following an • accident. The college authorities were exonerated from blame. Sir Bernard Spilsbury, Home Office Pathologist, gave evidence that Ellis tied himself up, probably without suicidal intentions. When Ellis was ffound dead in his room, tightly trussed and gagged with handkerchiefs, the police suspected murder. Sir Bernard Spilsbury phowed, however, that he could htive tied the knots himself; also that the position of the body was such that no one could have left the room.
