OFFICER’S GALLANTRY
Dived Into Rough Sea SINKING CHINESE JUNK (Rec. February 2, 11.30 pan.). Hong Kong, February 2. The traditions of the British Merchant Service were worthily upheld by R. T. Salmon, third officer of the Yue> Sang, which, in the China Sea, can* upon a water-logged Chinese
junk. A life-line thrown from the vessel rescued six, but one man was left on the junk too exhausted to move. Salmon stripped, dived into a very rough sea, and brought the man aboard, rescusitation methods proved unavailing.
