Accident to Speed-boat

Palmerston North. January 27.

While testing a specially-tuned engine in a speed-boat at Foxton last week, Mr. T. Madge, of Palmerston North, bad a narrow escape from serious injury when the engine suddenly flew off the transom while the boat was travelling at a moderate speed. The engine, which is valued at £lOO, sank into deep water, but was eventually recovered on Saturday morning with one cylinder burst by contact with the cold water.
