HEAVY RAIN AT DUNEDIN

Light low cloud hid the sun from Wellington most of yesterday nnd the day, being warm, was sultry. What little wind there was came from the north.
Heavy rain fell at Dunedin throughout Sunday and again for the greater part of yesterday, the fall for the twentyfour hours ended at noon being l}in. The rain ceased early yesterday afternoon, but it continued to be overcast and threatening. The wind was light from the east. The maximum temperature was 60 degrees, and the barometer was steady, the reading last evening being 29.95 in. At Auckland it was fine but dull, with a light wind from the south-west. The barometer was falling, the reading being 30.10 in. last evening. There was not much sunshine at Christchurch, the sky for the most part being overcast. The wind was light to strong from the north-east, and tile maximum temperature was 61 degrees. The barometer has little movement, tha present reading being SO.OOin.
