Saturday’s Matches

KARORI TROPHY WINNERS

Heavy showery marred the shooting competitions held at Trentham on Saturday. The Karori club held trophy competitions, the second half of the C.A.C. Cup and the Bertram Cup being fired. The C.A.C. Cup was won by H. Frankland, the runner-up at last year’s competition, who, standing fifth after the previous week’s shoot, put on 99 ou Saturday, a brilliant performance. O. M. Ching, who was leading Frankland at the close of the 500 yards shoot, got a “maggie” for his last shot at 600 yards, thus dropping back into the position of run-ner-up. The Bertram Cup was won by J. I. King, with J. Grove 2 points behind.

Championship and series competitions made up the Old Navals’ programme for the afternoon. F. Monk shot very well under the conditions prevailing, and ended with a total of 99, W. Mcßain being second with 96.

A Practice match was fired by the Suburbs club, as it will be a competitor in the Union Shield teams’ matches. Detailed results of the various clubs’ shootings are as follow:—
