WEDDINGS

ROBIN SON—BARTLETT. The marriage took place at All Saiuts’ Anglican Church, Palmerston North, on Wednesday last of Gladys Ellen, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bartlett, of Palmerston North, and William Henry, second son of Mrs. E. and the late Mr. F. Robinson, of Thyiine Street, Foxton. Canon Woodward was the officiating minister, and Mr. Holmes Runnicles presided at the organ. The church was decorated for the occasion with flowers, and a floral bell was suspended over the bridal party. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was attired in a gown of ivory satin beaute. Her tightfitting bodice was cut hi a'V and finished with large bow on left side of waistline. Her sleeves were tight-fitting and fell over her hands to a point. The hemline of the flared skirt dipped gradually at the back. She wore satin shoes and stockings to tone, and a beautifully embroidered tulle veil, forming a train and eaught to the head with orange blossoms. Her only ornament was a necklace of pearls. The bride carried a sheaf of lilies with heather, and maidenhair fern. Miss Ruby Bartlett, sister of the bride, attended as bridesmaid, attired in apricot georgette modelled on simple lines with uneven hem and cape effect, silver shoes, and felt hat to match turned up off face. She carried a bouquet of roses, Iceland poppies and maidenhair fern. Little Joan Haynes, of Wellington, niece of the bridegroom, acted as flower girl, in a Kate Greenaway frock of lido blue georgette and band of blue flowers round her head. She carried a basket of roses, delphiniums and maidenhair fern. She presented the bride with a lucky horseshoe as the bridal couple left the church.

Mr. Mclvor, of Palmerston Norfh, carried out the duties of best man. Mrs. Bartlett, mother of the bride, was attired in navy blue crepe de chino trimmed with beige and red georgette, and navy Bankok hat with touches of red to tone. Mrs. Bartlett carried«a posy of red roses, anemones, and maidenhair fern. Mrs. Robinson, mother of the bridegroom, wore a dress of black crepe de chine trimmed with fawn, black and white Bangkok hat, and black silk coat, and carried a posy of lavender and cerise flowers. After the ceremony a reception was held at Collinson and Cunninghame’s, where Mrs. Bartlett and Mrs, Robinson received the guests. The bridal couple left later by car for their honeymoon. The bride wore a frock of beige celanese and silk coat to match and Bangkok hat, and carried a fur coat. Their future home will be in Hawera.
