Sir Otto Beit Dead London, December 7. The death is announced of Sir Otto Beit.
Sir Otto Beit was one of the trustees of the Rhodes Trust, and in that position did a great deal to make the scholar ships the success they proved. lie was a very wealthy man and did a great deni for the cause of education, especial ly in research, having founded the Beit memorial fellowship for medical research Sir Otto was also a member of the governing body of the Imperial College of Science nnd Technology. He was a director of the British South Africa Company and of Rhodesia Railways Ltd He was married, with a son and two daughters. His heir is Alfred Lane who is 27 years of age. lie was 65 years of age.
