The first function under the auspices of the newly-formed New Zealand Women’s Association in England was an afternoon “at home”'arranged in honour of Sirs. G. W. Forbes. It took place at the Rembrandt Hotel on October 24, and proved a very happy occasion. Nearly 180 ladies were present, including members of the association and some specially invited guests. Among the latter were: Lady Allenby, the Viscountess Elibank, Mrs. Stanley Baldwin, Mrs. L. S. Amery, Dame Adelaide Anderson, Mrs. A. V. Alexander, Lady Barwell, Mrs. Wedgwood Benn, Lady Chatterjee, Lady Connolly, Lady Corbett, Lady Costello, Lady Fuller, Lady Furse, . Mrs. William Graham. Lady Garran, Lady Guillemand. Lady, Hankey, Miss Hankey, Lady Harding, Lady . Hiley, the Lady Mayoress, Lady Ryrie, Lady Redmayne, Lady Squires, Miss Ishbel MacDonald, Mrs. Philip Snowden, Lady Parmoor, Mrs. de Satge. Lady Simon, Miss Gladys Pott, Lady Jowitt. Lady Wllford, president of the association,- received the guests, other members of the committee helping her including; Lady Salmond, Miss V. Russell, Mrs. P. C. Corliss, Mrs. S. G. Raymond. Airs. Bernard Myers. Airs. AlcNaughon Christie.

The occasion was one where many happy reunions were possible among people who had not met, perhaps for years, and everyone hoped that another equally pleasant function would be held in the near future. Tea was served at small tables, and every detail was well carried out.
