CAPITATION FIRST
Wireless in Schools After The Wellington School Committees’ Association is of the opinion thqt before the Government is asked to expend money on such a scheme as the installation of wireless sets in primary schools, every effort should be made to regain the capitation grants refused to school committees. At its meeting last evening it passed a motion to that effect, after it had considered a letter from the South. Canterbury School Committees’ Association advocating support of the scheme mentioned. The secretary said he had come to the conclusion that school committees would be ill-advised to ask the Government to spend some thousands of pounds when capitation grants were not granted to the extent required. He moved that the Cau- [ terbury Association (be advised to that effect, and the motion was carried without discussion.
