The Hawera “Star” publishes an unofficial statement intimating that an agreement has» been reached on a formula for standardised cheese manufacture, following upon representations by deputations and the Dairy Board to the Minister of Agriculture; that consideration is being given to an amendment to the regulations under which the fat content of cheese other than full cream would, instead of being 50 to 52 per cent.,, as at present, be 52 per cent, from August 1 to the end of December, 53 per cent from the end of December March 15, and 54 per cent, for the remainder of the season. | . It is also stated that fit is proposed to discard the standardisation brand, cheese under the new regulations to be branded “cheddar.” and other cheese “full cream.”
