Thrilling Teams’ Race KILMISTER WINS Hunger’s Airport Handicap Some of the best performances of the season so far were witnessed at the Kilbirnie Speedway Stadium on Saturday evening. Several innovations were introduced. The star event of the programme was the Teams’ Race, contested by two teams, each consisting of six specially-selected dirt track riders. W. Kilmister captained one team, and J. Bishop, the Queensland champion, the other. Nine races were run altogether, three points being awarded to the first man in each race, two to the second, and one to the third. The team showing the greatest aggregate was adjudged the winner. Points were even at the end of the first race, and then Bishop's team led for three races. Kilmister’s team in turn took the lead, and ended with a total of 31 points. Bishop’s team scored 23 points. Some remarkably fine exhibitions of broadsiding were given by the riders in these contests, and every race provided many thrills. There were some close finishes, and some very fast riding. Bishop, himself, did not lose a race in this contest. Kilmister also was in first-rate form, and displayed all his customary dash. Another exciting race was the Great Auto Thrills Handicap, for twelve selected first division riders. This was won by E. Naylor. The Grand Airport Handicap was won by A. W.
