Vice-Regal. The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, and Lady Bledisloe. attended the elosing ceremony of the Wellington Teachers’ Training College yesterday. This afternoon a large number of people engaged in local industries will be guests at a party at Government House. In the evening his Excellency will attend the annual birthday festival of the Toe H organisation, and her Excellency will be present at the performance of “The Belle of New York.” On Monday their Excellencies will leave Wellington to pay official visits to Featherston and Masterton, and they will return to Government House on Thursday. Ministerial. The Hon. E. A. Ransom, Acting-Prime Minister, who has been resting at his home nt Dannevirke, will definitely resume his official duties at Parliament House on Tuesday. The Hon. A. J. Murdoch, Minister of Agriculture, who is visiting Whangarei, is expected to return to Wellington on Monday morning. The Hon. J. G. Cobbe, Minister of Defence, who has been in bis electorate for some days, is expected to return to Wellington on ‘Monday. The Hon. W. B. Taverner, Minister of Public Works, left for Dunedin last even?ng. He will lie away from Welliiigtcn for some time. The Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs, left for the South last evening. He is expected to return to Wellington on December 16. The Hon. W. A. Veitch, Minister of Railways, is expected to return to Wellington from Wanganui on Monday. The Hon. H. Atmore, Minister of Education, who has been visiting Wanganui and Pa-lmerston North, will inspect Flock House this morning, then returning to Wellington, where he will attend the official opening of the Maranui Surf and Life Saving Club’s new pavilion at Lyall Bay this afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Kane arrived from- Rot onia yesterday. Mr. T. C. Lowry, of Taihape, is a guest at the Grand Hotel. Mr. L. A. Cornaga. of Christchurch, is staying at the Hotel St. George. Mr. G. A. Bullock Douglas, who is down from Wanganui, is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. J. Leggo, Nelson, and Mr. J. T. Pickett, of Waipawa, are' at the Royal Oak Hotel. Mr. W. Penseler, German Consul at Wellington, will proceed to Berlin on home leave in January next. The Rt. Rev. Henry Newton, Bishop of New Guinea, left .Wellington for Sydned by the Marama yesterday afternoon. He came to Wellington by the Rotorua from Southampton. Mr. A. Donald and Mr. R. Evans, of Pahiatua; Messrs. J. Newman and A. Newman, of Nelson; Mr. 1. 11. Hewart, of Auckland; Mr. R. N. Adams and Mr. C. H. Williamson. Christchurch; Mr. A. Nielson, of New Plymouth; and Mr. H. J. Nitz, of Masterton, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. R. G. Hatton, director Of the Imperial Bureau of Fruit Productions and of the East Maling Research Station, returned to Wellington after a visit to Christchurch, with Dr. G. H. Cunningham. mycologist at the Plant Research Station. Palmerston North, yesterday morning. Mr. Hatton left for Sydney in the afternoon.
