“THE MESSIAH”

Contralto from Sydney Interest will be lent the performance of “The Messiah” by the Royal Choral Union next month by the importation from Sydney of a talented contralto, Miss Peggy Dunbar, of Sydney, who has been singing in oratorio in Australia with conspicuous success. Miss Dunbar is leaving Sydney for Wellington to-day by the Maunganui. The other soloists will be Mrs. Goodson, of Wellington (soprano), Mr. Harold Prescott, of Christchurch (tenor), and Mr. Wilfred Kershaw, of Dunedin (baritone). Some interesting innovations in the treatment of the score are being arranged by the conductor, Mr. John Bishop, which will mean departures from traditional form.
