A light breeze blew from the north. , . , . , The weather was fine at Auckland, .but cloudy and overcast after midday., A 1/ght breeze blew from the southwest. • The barometer was rising and registered 29.90 lU Tbe weather at Christchurch was fine but cloudy with a light south-west wind in the morning and a strong north-east breeze in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 57 degrees. The baro-. meter had little movement, last evening s reading being 29.66. There was a distinct improvement in I e weather at Dunedin yesterday. The sun broke cover early in the morn.ng and the day was warm but the sky was over cast during the afternoon. There was a verv light breeze from the south-west, and the maximum temperature nt noon was 70 degrees. The barometer rose dur-, ing Monday night and was fairly steady at 29.55im
