MOERA BILLIARDS
A match for the billiards championship of Moera was played in the Moera billiard saloon last night. The contestants were Messrs. W. Crossan and T. Jones. The game was 300 tip, and resulted in Crossan winning by 80. Crossan’s breaks were 31, 21, 25, 64, 24, while Jones’s best were 35, 21, 20, 40, 42. A gold medal was presented to the winner, and a silver cigarette holder to the runner-up. Later Mr. Coffey, the Hutt Valley champion, played Mr. Crossan, who won by 100 points in 250. Mr. D. McEwan was the referee.
