Maori Girl Incinerated TRAGEDY IN COUNTRY By Telegraph.—Press Association. Whangarei, November 24. A tragedy occurred in the country district beyond Maromaku on Saturday night, when a thirteen-year-old Maori girl name Tipene was burned to death. The girl's parents went out visiting, leaving the girl and four younger brothers in the house. The fire occurred late at night. The boys escaped, but the girl was trapped, her charred remains being found among the debris. The building had only recently been constructed.
