Railway Union’s Proposal SIX-DAY WORKING WEEK (Hec. November 23, 5.5 p.m.) New York, November 22. The railroad unions’ “Big Four Brotherhood’s” Convention has endorsed the basic principle of a six-day week, with no reduction in the wage rate, to alleviate unemployment among 375,000 of its 1,500,000 members. No method of putting the principle into practice was adopted, but Mr. Hoover will be asked to call a conference to consider the question.
