From April 1•_ to October 31, receipts obtained by the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board in connection with its operations amounted to £84,827/13/-. There was a balance Of £15,038/2/2 at April 1, power sales produced £68,224 5/8, interest on fixed deposits £496/17/6, consumers deposits £639/5/-, contractors’ deposits £3lO/13/6, refund of compensation £llO/12/6, sundry receipts £7/16/8. Expenditure amounted to £57,758/4/3, made up of sundry creditors, £10,169/6/5, power purchases £20,755/5/3, salaries £3639/13/6, wages £5267/5/4, interest on loans £10,872/5/7, sinking funds, etc., £2512/9/-, depreciation investment’£7oB3 6/-,.. replacement cars and trucks £669 7/6, replacement plant ‘ and tools £487 4/5, transport, benzine and spares £5Bl 14/1, office furniture and fittings £lll7 18/-, insurance £623/3/5, imprest account £lOO, buildings £1049, ’ general £2999 12/2.
