MANNEQUIN PARADE

During this week, when Palmerston North has been en fete for the city celebrations, combined with New Zealand and British Industries Week, the C. M. Rose Company staged a most finished mannequin parade, demonstrating New Zealand-made goods and British manufacture only. The mannequins appeared in a revolving pillar, and from this they stepped on to a long platform, descending in the centre of the room. Frocks for sports wear, evening wear, and formal afternoon occasions were displayed and compared most favourably with the Imported goods. Some of the materials used in the striking gowns were figured ninon, silk marocain, taffettas, georgette, chenille georgette, silk repp, and stockinette. :

The parade was brought to a close by a group display of a bridal party, the dolour scheme being In' golden shades. Throughout the entire exhibition the sense of detail was most complete, and the ensembles all had matching accessories so essential to the well-dressed woman.
