A SOPHISTICATED PLAY
The National Repertory Society opens its first production of the fifty season for three nights on Thursday, July 31, with the presentation of "The Circle,” which W. Somerset Maughan, the author, prefers to “Our Betters,” as it contains a fine, if not the finest, example of a serious modern love scone, stripped bare of sentiment. The theme is modern love. The principals In this presentation by the society are Misses Kato Stocker and Dorothy Hadfield, as Lady Kitty and Elizabeth respectively; Mr. W. S. Waucliop, as Arnold; Mr. E. S. Baldwin; as Clive; while the parts of Teddio Luton and Lord Porteous are taken by Don Priestley and R. E. Pope respectively. Included in the minor parts are Miss Langbridge and U. Williams.
