MUSIC FESTIVAL WEEK

After nearly two months of preparation, wLi- arri !1 K . eiu t Cllts for Muslc Festival Week, which is to be held from August , ’ have reached the stage where the box plans for subscribers and season ticketholders are now available at the Bristol. Jj or the public the plans wjll open on Monday morning. Those who wish to take advantage of the preferential booking which season ticket-holders enjoy should get into touch immediately with the secretary, Mr. A. Petberick, 'phone 43—005. Although the ordinary day by day prices are extremely low, and uniform for all performances (2/- and 1/-), season tickets giving admission to all concerts held in Music Week reduce the charge to an almost nominal one for each performance. The low prices were decided upon almost as soon ns the effort began, and although the organisaiton is faced with a loss, the executive has not swerved from its original intention. It Is unnecessary, of course, to point out that all leading local musicians and all musical and choral organisations in Wellington are combining and coordinating their efforts to produce a week of pure music in every branch of the art. Music Festival Week will bo the greatest musical event that has ever taken place in this cltjk.
