Successful Service
The running of the Eastbourne buses for June was very heavy, but the recommissioning of the boats alter their annual overhaul, has enabled headway to be made with overhauling the b “ se % a “<’ rd ' ing to reports presented to the Boiou o b C °While the boats were undergoing overhaul the buses were called on to run 558 trips, amounting to a total mileage of 9486 miles above the ordinary running ° f l’or June the buses did 483 trips to Wellington, the mileage amounting to 20,2G4 miles; 2112 gallons of be." 21 ™ were used, giving an average ot 9.5 miles net gallon over the whole fleet. ’ Receipts on the buses for June were £BBO/2/7, against £B6B/11/11 J “? c ’ 1929. Expenditure for June, 19-jO, was £764/16/9, and for the corresponding month last year £753/4/1. From April 1 to June 30, 1930, the total receipts on the bus running were £3177/1/3. against £2842/12/4 tor the corresponding period last year. Of these sums traffic receipts were respectively £3125/12/3, and £2775/14/1., Expended for the period this year was £2892/14/11, against £3758/19/10 for the corresponding period last year. 'The principal, items of expenditure were as follow, the figures for the corresponding period last year being in parcntheses: Administration, £147/12/4 (£lB3 5/1; wages. £986/4/10 (£lOlB/9/11); benzine, £578/13/6 (£520/11/<): o’!’ £47/51/6 (£49/6/3) renewals. £9l/.>/(£l6O/17/2); repairs, 18/-;. tires and tubes, £9l/10/3 (£157 2/0); sundries, £5O/10/1 (£l3/1/9); in* surance, £6lB/2/6 (£462/2/10); new buses, — (£990).
