D.I.C STAFF DANCE
The D.I.C. staff held its annual dance in the new Adelphi Cabaret recently. Arrangements for the evening’s programme were excellently carried out, and the function proved to be one of the brightest ever held in the cabaret. Members of the committee were congratulated upon their untiring efforts to make the evening a successful one, and this was certainly achieved. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. W. Simm, Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Ferguson, and Mr. A. E. Burge. Mesdames Simm and Ferguson were each presented with attractive bouquets, comprising violets and iris lilies.
A new softness of line appears in the smart sports dresses of British exotic silks which have just arrived at Castel Jaloux Ltd., Woodward Street. Skirts are longer, flares are apparent, the natural waist is marked by a narrow stitched belt and buckle, and both sleeveless and long-sleeved modes are featured. This collection is sponsored by Deval and other well-known English houses. Chic coats In fine flannel and in shades to match the dresses for tennis and shopping are new also, and even In this day of suits and jackets the separate coat has lost none of its importance, and is as necessary for the summer as for the winter wardrobe. These coats are very attractive, and owe a great deal of charm to the narrow stitchings and buckles on collar and belt.—Advt.
