WORKING WEEK
NEW SOUTH WALES BILL Sydney, May 15. By 45 votes to 44 the second reading of the Forty-four Hour Repeal Bill was carried in the Assembly. The Nationalists, Messrs. Sanders and Tressider, voted with the Opposition. The State Treasurer, Mr. B. Stevens, in defence of the measure, said that in breaking away from its election policy the Government did so because a national emergency had arisen.
