BY-LAW BREACHES
MOTORISTS FINED. Breaches of traffic by-laws were dealt with by Mr. W. 11. Woodward, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday. The following fines were imposed for excessive speed Walter E. Brice and John It. Niven, each £4, with costs; William Kennedy, £3, with costs; Albert leterson, Raymond Santos, and Garrett C. Scanlon, each £2 with costs; and William Darragh, £1 with costs. Scanlon was also fined £1 with costs for passing a stationary tramcar. Failure to procure drivers’ licenses cost Cuthbert J. Cartwright, Ralph Curtis, Harold W. Fenton, Bruce Ferguson, and George J. Kelly each 10/-, with costs. For driving against an automatic signal James Robertson was fined £1 with costs, Travelling in the wrong direction in ‘one-way” streets resulted in Erie Monteith and Janies L. Looner being lined 10/- with costs, and 5/- with costs, respectively. Phyllis I. Tnine Brown was ordered to pay costs, 10/-, for a similar offence. Henry M. Murphy was fined £5 with costs for dangerous driving. For having no silencer on a motor-cycle, Francis P. Jones wtis fined 10/-, with costs; Cyril J. West was fined £l, with costs, for having no heavy traffic license. For a similar offence McArthur Brothers, Limited, was convicted and ordered to pay costs, 10/-.
