SHOTS INTO COLLIERY
NEW FORM OF TERRORISM (Rec. January 26, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, January 26. Several shots were fired into Aberdare Extended Colliery buildings during the night by a sniper, who apparently used a repeating rifle. A police-, man on his beat was narrowly missed. The adjacent bush was searched fruitlessly. The colliery is just outside Cessnock, and the incident suggests the possibility of a new form of terrorism directed against the police. A dump of rifles, ammunition, and explosives was found in this vicinity last week.
