Staples and Lougmore, J.P.’s, presided in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, _ „ , ,_, Two seamen, Arthur Ford and Edward Dooley, on a charge of stealing five bottles of beer, valued at 7/6, the property ot Joshua Slade, were fined 10/- each, in default 48 hours’ imprisonment. The accuscd stole the beer from the backyard of the Pier Hotel while under the influence of liquor. For his fourth offence bf drunkenness. James Burman, aged 36, was convicted and discharged. For his second offence of drunkenness, ' Edward t Smith, aged 44, was similarly dealt with.
