METHODIST BIBLE-CLASS MOVEMENT

NINTH ANNUAL CONVENTION. The ninth annual convention of the New Zealand Methodist Young Alen’s Bible Class movement opened in Wesley Institute, Taranaki Street, Wellington, yesterday. Some 50 delegates of unions and officers of the movement assembled under (he chairmanship of the Dominion President (Mr. W. L. Thomas, of Christchurch). The Convention opened at 9.30 with a devotional meeting and a welcome to delegates, led by the Rev. E. D. Patchett, chairman of the Wellington district. After the appointment of minute and financial secretaries, and press reporter, the business of the convention was proceeded with. Tlie annual report and financial statement were dealt with during the morning and adopted. On adjournment at 12.15, the delegates assembled for luncheon at the Y.M.C.A., where a very enjoyable hour was spent in feasting, singing and merriment. Convention resu’.ied at 2 p.m. for a devotional session, which gave way tc a further business session at 3.30, when more general business was transacted, until the adjournment at: 5.30. The evening session, from 7.30 to 9.30, was occupied in further business of a general nature. The convention will conclude to-day.
